Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, H.E. Mr. Igor Sergeyenko, visited the ECO Secretariat, where he was welcomed by ECO Secretary General Ambassador Khusrav Noziri.
During the interaction, Ambassador Noziri provided an overview of the ECO, an intergovernmental body dedicated to fostering regional economic cooperation and integration. He outlined ECO’s focused areas, including trade, transport, energy, agriculture and tourism, emphasizing the organization’s key objectives as specified in the ECO Vision 2025. He also described the structure of the ECO and its decision-making processes, highlighting the organization’s project-driven approach and its various global partnerships. Special attention was given to the Parliamentary Assembly of the ECO (PAECO), which is scheduled to hold its 4th General Conference this year in Iran.
Mr. Sergeyenko expressed interest in potential cooperation areas for Belarus, especially in transport and transit projects, acknowledging the significant role ECO plays in enhancing regional connectivity and economic integration.
