The Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) has launched a transformative initiative aimed at fostering a more prosperous, equitable, and resilient future for its Member States. The Regional Initiative on Resource Efficiency, Sustainability, and Circular Economy (RESCUE), inaugurated at COP29 in Baku, moves beyond traditional models to champion a circular economy where waste is minimized, resources are valued, and growth is sustainable.
RESCUE empowers the region to tackle pressing challenges, such as resource scarcity and climate change, while seizing new opportunities. By fostering innovation and coherent policy, the initiative will drive progress in critical areas: from boosting resource efficiency and conserving biodiversity to creating green jobs and ensuring social equity. Supported by international partners, RESCUE is a strategic investment in a future where economic development goes hand-in-hand with environmental and social well-being.
