Ambassador Jandos Asanov (Kazakh national) is ECO Deputy Secretary General (since 1 February 2020) in charge of Tourism Directorate; Project Management Section; Judicial and Parliamentary Coordination and ECO Advocacy Programme for Afghanistan Section.

Mr Jandos Asanov has been with Kazakhstan-s diplomatic service since 1993.
He graduated from the Alma-Ata Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages (1993), briefly studied at the University of Arizona (UofA) on a students- exchange programme (1992) and learned Urdu at the Pakistan Institute of Foreign Languages (1996).
J.Asanov served at the diplomatic missions of Kazakhstan in Islamabad, London, Vienna and Brussels and held various positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Administration of the President and Chancery of Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
He was the deputy head of the OSCE Office in Minsk, chief executive officer at the Secretariats of CICA and TurkPA and Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan.
Mr J.Asanov joined the ECO Secretariat in the capacity of Deputy Secretary General from 1st February 2020 and deals with the issues relating to tourism, Judicial and Parliamentary Coordination as well as ECO Advocacy Programme for Afghanistan.
