On March 14, 2024, the ECO Secretariat and the Italy-Iran Chamber of Commerce and Industry jointly organized a webinar titled “A New Common Market: Opportunities for Italian Companies.” The event aimed to explore mutual opportunities for cooperation between Italian companies and ECO Member States.
H.E. Ambassador Khusrav Noziri, ECO Secretary General; Mr. Giuseppe Tripoli, Secretary General of the Union of Italian Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Trade and Agriculture; Mr. Federico Failla, Minister Plenipotentiary, MFA of Italy; Mr. Giuseppe Zampini, President of Iran-Italy Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Mr. Pier Luigi d’Agata, Secretary General of Iran-Italy Chamber of Commerce and Industry participated in the webinar, along with diplomatic corps and representatives of Italian companies. ECO Directors for Trade and Investment as well as Transport and Communications also attended the event.
During the webinar, the ECO Secretary-General provided a concise overview of the organization’s multifaceted activities, spanning trade, investment, transport, energy, tourism, industry and sustainable development. Encouraging deeper engagement between the two sides, he urged the Italian Chamber to explore untapped opportunities prevailing in the region.
Mr. Tripoli, in his welcoming address, underscored the robust bilateral partnerships between the Union of Italian Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Trade, and Agriculture and numerous ECO Member States. He highlighted the event’s significance in fostering connections among businesses across the countries.
Presentations by ECO Directors highlighted the key transport corridors, ongoing projects and recent economic developments in the ECO Region, enriching the discussion with their valuable insights.
