From 2026, the ECO Chairmanship will rotate, in an alphabetical order, amongst the Member States every two-year beginning at the start of a calendar year.
Currently, the ECO Chairmanship is held by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan for 2026-2027.

Ambassador Muhammad Mudassir Tipu is the current Chairman of the ECO Council of Permanent Representatives (CPR).
