ECO Day 2019 was celebrated on 26 November 2019 at the Institute for Political and International Studies, Tehran. H.E. Dr. Mohammad Javad Zarif, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, was the guest of honour of the event. Ambassadors and senior representatives of the Tehran diplomatic corps as well as high-ranking authorities from the host country attended the ceremony.
In his welcoming remarks, the ECO Secretary General, H.E. Dr. Hadi Soleimanpour, highlighted the core features of the regional cooperation within ECO framework under his leadership in the last two years. He also gave an overview of the ECO Vision 2025 and hoped that in the light the Vision, the Member States will realize further achievements in future.
H.E. Dr. Mohammad Javad Zarif, in his address, underlined the ECO recent performance and achievements and assured the Organization for the continued support of the Islamic Republic of Iran. He also highlighted the significance of regional cooperation in the present world and emphasized the Member States for more proactive approach towards realization of the core objectives of the ECO.
