An ECO Delegation headed by Dr. Husnu Tekin, Acting Director for Energy, Minerals & Environment, attended the 27th National Conference and Exhibition on Geomatics Engineering organized by the National Cartographic Center of I.R. of Iran held on 1- 4 May, 2023, in Tehran.
In the opening ceremony of the event, Dr. Ali Javidaneh, Director General of the National Cartographic Center of Iran, made a presentation about the coastal and offshore hydrography platforms in the Persian Gulf and the capacity of UAVs for mapping. The National Cartographic Center also informed the meeting about their steps to export technical and engineering services to other countries.
ECO Secretariat and the officials of the National Cartographic Center of Iran discussed about potential areas of cooperation in the field of cartographic and maps. The sides agreed on holding regular courses and meetings to strengthen the knowledge capacity in the ECO region.
