ECO Deputy Secretary General Ambassador Silapberdi Nurberdiyev paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Amin Taraffo, the Director General for International Affairs of the Ministry of Transport and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The Deputy Secretary General felicitated Dr. Taraffo on his new assignment as Director General for International Affairs and highlighted the importance of the Ministry in enhancement of transport cooperation in the Region. He also touched upon the upcoming events that are planned to take place in the Islamic Republic of Iran in particular the 13th Ministerial on Transport and the 1st Meeting of the Multimodal Transport committee of the TTCC.
The meeting also interacted on the Chairmanship of the ECO by the Islamic Republic of Iran in the current year and highlighted the ongoing projects involving the country and prospective plans on connectivity.
The dignitaries also reviewed some of the important challenges and agreed to hold further consultations with each other to find further avenues for cooperation.
