At the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the ECO Deputy Secretary General Ambassador Dr. Huseyin Avni Bicakli participated in the opening ceremony to commemorate the World Hafez Week held on October 7, 2023 by the Society for the Appreciation of Cultural Works and Dignitaries of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Attending the event, Dr. Huseyin Avni Bicakli applauded Hafez’s character and said his poems are famous and popular among not only Iranians but many other countries. Praising the great poet, Mr. Bicakli described Hafez and his poems as Iran’s identity
To pay tribute to the poetry of the great poet, Hafez Shirazi, the event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance of the Islamic Republic of Iran, H.E. Mr. Yaser Ahmadv, Iranian Foreign Ministry’s Spokesman, H.E. Mr. Nasser Kanaani, Turkish Ambassador to Iran, H.E. Mr.Hicabi Kırlangıç, Tajikistan Ambassador to Iran, H.E. Mr. Nizomiddin Zohidi, prominent Iranian and foreign nationals, literary figures and experts in Hafez studies.
At the end of commemoration ceremony, an exhibition of art and calligraphy was also arranged.
