ECO Deputy Secretary General Ambassador Jandos Asanov participated in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Tourism Forum titled: “2023-Year of Tourism” held in Urumqi, China on November 23-26, 2023.
Attended by representatives of SCO countries, international organizations, tourist associations and some eminent international personalities, the stage was decorated to promoting the SCO tourism sector, highlighting diverse potentials and attractions of the region.
In his remarks at the plenary session, Ambassador Jandos underscored the importance of such interactive gatherings which, he considered, quite instrumental for supporting sustainable growth and consolidation of global tourism industry. Besides, he was pleased to note that ECO and SCO enjoy cooperative relationship within the scope of an existing MoU that was signed by the two sides on December 11, 2007.
On the Forum’s sidelines, ECO Deputy Secretary General also held bilateral meetings with China’s Special Representative for Eurasia Ambassador Li Hui and the SCO Secretary General Ambassador Zhang Ming as well as some other high-level dignitaries.
