ECO Secretariat organized a virtual meeting to kick-off its new project “Train the Trainers Program for ECO Member States on International Standards and International Standardisation,” on May 13, 2024.

Inaugurated by ECO Secretary General Ambassador Khusrav Noziri, and with participation of relevant ECO staff as well as the contractor consulting company, the session extensively discussed the stages of implementation of the project. It was acknowledged that this project represents a significant milestone in ECO’s collective efforts to promote economic cooperation and integration among its Member States, recognizing that standards serve as the foundation for ensuring the safety, reliability, and quality of products and services, thereby facilitating trade and fostering economic growth.

Through this program, the ECO Secretariat aims to enhance the trainer staff capacity of ECO Member States in the field of standardization, enabling them to effectively participate and contribute to national, regional and international standardization activities.

The ECO Regional Institute for Standardization, Conformity Assessment, Accreditation, and Metrology (ECO-RISCAM) is also among the participants of the project.
