Dr. Kambod Amini Hosseini, Director for Regional Education and Research Center on Earthquake Risk Management and Resilience (RCECWA) and Ms. Mehrasa Mehrdadi, National Program Officer for UNESCO visited the ECO Secretariat and discussed various issues concerning bilateral cooperation with Deputy Secretary General Mr. Kashif Zaman, on September 4, 2023.
The visiting delegates briefed the Deputy Secretary General about their activities for earthquake risk mitigation and management including the forthcoming regional workshop on earthquake and Safe Schools Drill. Appreciating the work of UNESCO and RCECWA to strengthen resilience against earthquake through greater community participation and capacity building, Mr. Zaman underscored the need to enhance and diversify the existing cooperation framework for the benefit of the entire ECO region.
The three sides expressed desire to continue and expand the process of mutual collaboration.
