At the invitation of the Government of Turkmenistan and the UNOHRLLS, the Deputy Secretary General of ECO co-chaired the Ministerial Transport Conference of Landlocked Developing Countries held in Awaza on August 15-16, 2022. The Conference was chaired by H.E. Mr. Rashid Meredov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The ECO Deputy Secretary General Ambassador Mohsen Esperi, joined the chairmanship of the opening session led by H.E. Mr. Meredov under the theme of “Promotion of corridors, regional connectivity and integrated multimodal transport systems”.
Ambassador Mohsen Esperi also delivered a presentation, as the panelist of the 3rd session of the Conference on 16 Augusts 2022, on the transport activities in the Organization and elaborated on the various aspects of corridor management approach for enhancement of connectivity in the ECO region.
The international event was co-organized jointly by the Government of Turkmenistan and the UNOHRLLS under the theme of “Ashgabat process: Financing for Better Connectivity” and was attended by heads of international organizations and banks, ministers of transport of the various countries, representatives from different countries, including ECO Member States.
