The Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), Dr. Asad M. Khan, called on H.E. Mr. Yersaiyn Nagaspayev, Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in Astana.
A central topic of deliberation was the imperative to revitalize the ECO’s industrial agenda. The Secretary General noted that regional industrial cooperation required renewed momentum. He informed the Kazakh side that the Secretariat has scheduled the upcoming ECO Ministerial Meeting on Industry, alongside an Expert Group Meeting, for September 22-23 in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. Minister Nagaspayev expressed support for this strategic initiative, confirming Kazakhstan’s active participation and steadfast commitment to developing concrete, result-oriented policy frameworks.
To further strengthen regional economic integration, the Secretary General emphasized the critical importance of harmonizing quality infrastructure.
The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their mutual commitment to deepening regional cooperation, and ensuring a sustainable cooperation in the ECO region.
