During his bilateral visit to Islamabad, ECO Secretary General Ambassador Khusrav Noziri held a meeting with Mr. Jam Kamal Khan, Pakistan’s Commerce Minister, and discussed key regional trade issues.
The discussions focused on advancing the implementation of the ECO Trade Agreement (ECOTA), which aims to enhance economic integration and trade facilitation among ECO member states.
The talks explored practical strategies for overcoming barriers to trade, improving regional market access and streamlining customs procedures to boost economic cooperation in the region. Both sides highlighted the importance of resolving existing challenges to fully realize the benefits of ECOTA.
Looking ahead, they expressed strong expectations for the 9th Meeting of the ECOTA Cooperation Council, scheduled for the end of this July. They anticipate that this meeting will facilitate progress on pending issues and help to solidify agreements that will enhance regional trade relations.
