ECO Secretary General, Dr. Asad M. Khan, held a press conference at the ECO Secretariat, where he provided an in-depth briefing to the media representatives. The focus of the conference was on the outcomes of the 28th Meeting of the Council of Ministers (COM) held in Mashhad on December 3, 2024, as well as upcoming initiatives and developments within the organization.

Dr. Khan shared the key outcomes of the 28th COM meeting, underscoring the member states’ continued commitment to strengthening economic cooperation and regional integration. The conference highlighted ongoing and future projects on connectivity, trade and climate resilience in the ECO region. He also outlined plans for the 17th ECO Summit, which is scheduled to be hosted by Azerbaijan in July 2025.

ECO Secretary General also provided an update on the nearing conclusion of the ECO Vision 2025, a framework guiding the organization’s priorities for the future. Furthermore, he shared that the 28th COM meeting has mandated the ECO Secretariat to begin crafting a comprehensive roadmap for the organization’s post-2025 agenda, focusing on adapting to global challenges and ensuring long-term regional growth and sustainability.
