The ECO Secretary General Ambassador Khusrav Noziri made telephonic conversation with the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan H.E. Mr. Jeyhun Bayramov who also holds the current Chairmanship of the ECO.
During the tele-call, the Secretary General shared condolences with the Honourable Minister for the loss of a diplomatic official and injuries endured by two other staff in a sad event at the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Tehran. Conveying his deepest sympathies with the bereaved family, the People and the Government of Azerbaijan, he recalled the strong condemnation that the host authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran made for the tragic incident. The Secretary General added that the ECO would continue with its agenda as well as planned events and activities under the Chairmanship of the Republic of Azerbaijan that, he considered, necessary to secure Member States’ joint targets for shared progress and prosperity in the region.
The Honourable Foreign Minister extended gratitude to Ambassador Noziri for the expression of sympathies and thoughtfulness, assuring his complete support to the Organization to help it function smoothly in the pursuit of their joint regional development goals, especially during the ECO Chairmanship of Azerbaijan.
