The Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Dr. Asad M. Khan, met with Ambassador Samir Bakr Diab, Assistant Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), in Jeddah.
The two sides exchanged views on ways to further strengthen institutional cooperation between the ECO and the OIC. The discussions particularly focused on enhancing coordination among regional and subregional organizations within the Muslim Ummah, fostering greater coherence and synergy in addressing shared challenges and opportunities.
Both sides underlined the importance of promoting joint initiatives in trade, connectivity, sustainable development, and humanitarian cooperation, aimed at advancing the common interests of their Member States.
It was agreed to maintain regular consultations between the two Secretariats and to continue working closely on issues of mutual concern. The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of both Organizations to deepen their partnership in support of peace, stability, and prosperity across the region.
