Within the framework of Brainstorming Session, the ECO Secretary General H.E. Mr. Khusrav Noziri met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, H.E. Mr. Furkat Sidikov.
The ECO Secretary General updated the Deputy Minister on some notable achievements of the Organization, especially in the area of trade and connectivity as well as development of regional energy sector. He mentioned that the core reason behind the organization of Brainstorming Session was to gather high-level ECO representatives to discuss with them some challenges which continue to obstruct the organization’s way to prosperity. He praised Uzbekistan’s enhanced involvement in the ECO’s activities, particularly after the assumption of Organization’s Chairmanship by the country in 2022.
The visiting dignitary considered that the Member States’ cooperation was essentially necessary to fuel the collective economic progress in the region. He said that Uzbekistan is always ready and open to receive any proposals that could help in supporting the overall socioeconomic development in the region.
