During his visit to Sari, the ECO Secretary General H.E. Amb. Khusrav Noziri held a brief meeting with the General Governor of the Mazandaran Province, H.E. Mr. Seyed Mahmoud Hosseinipour on May 11, 2022.
While welcoming the Secretary General to the Mazandaran Province, the General Governor expressed his gratitude to the Organization for proclaiming Sari as the ECO Tourism Capital 2022. He considered it to be an excellent opportunity for expanding tourism cooperation between Iran and other ECO Member States. While torching on the potential advantages of the Province’s tourism side, he encouraged the Member States to explore, consider and avail such beneficial conditions of the land for their shared economic progress.
The ECO Secretary General pointed out that the expansion of tourism was amongst the priorities of the Organization as per ECO Vision 2025, informing that tourism holds a central place in ECO’s agenda of cooperation. He added that the Organization is deeply determined, inter alia, for an accelerated promotion of regional tourism industry through development of proper policies and strategies as well as relevant projects in the region.
The two sides also exchanged views on the implementation of relevant tourism policies during the year.
