During his visit to Islamabad, ECO Secretary General Ambassador Khusrav Noziri met with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, H.E. Mr. Mohammad Ishaq Dar.

Deputy Prime Minister Dar praised Ambassador Noziri for his outstanding service to the ECO and expressed optimism that his successor, Ambassador Asad Majeed Khan, would further invigorate the organization’s activities.

Acknowledging Pakistan’s significant contributions to ECO, Ambassador Noziri updated Mr. Dar on the organization’s recent activities. He also discussed planned reforms in ECO aimed at increasing the organization’s regional and global effectiveness, and bolstering its impact in the region. Ambassador Noziri expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s hospitality and emphasized the importance of continued collaboration among member states.

The meeting focused on regional trade dynamics and enhancing intra-regional trade for mutual benefit. Both sides reviewed the progress on ECO-Vision 2025, adopted during the 13th ECO Summit in Islamabad in 2017. The discussions and commitments made promise to enhance the organization’s impact and relevance in the region.
