The Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), Dr. Asad M. Khan, met with H.E. Waleed bin Abdulkarim Al-Khereiji, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The ECO Secretary General underlined the Organization’s readiness to deepen cooperation with the Kingdom, noting his earlier meetings with the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah, and the upcoming engagements with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO). He highlighted key priority areas — transport connectivity, trade promotion, food and water security, and tourism — as central to ECO’s vision for interregional cooperation.

H.E. Al-Khereiji welcoming the Secretary General, reaffirmed that deepening economic cooperation through diversified partnerships lie at the heart of Saudi Vision 2030, and expressed the Kingdom’s interest in pursuing joint collaboration in areas of mutual interest.

Dr Khan noted ECO’s openness to develop closer engagement with the Kingdom across mutually beneficial areas and emphasized the importance of continued dialogue between ECO and Saudi Arabia to advance shared goals of sustainable growth and stability in the broader region. He also invited the Saudi side to participate in ECO Ministerial Meeting on Agriculture, underscoring its relevance to joint efforts in strengthening food security and sustainable agricultural development.
