ECO Secretary General Ambassador Khusrav Noziri met with the Minister of National Education of Türkiye H.E. Mr. Yusuf TEKIN, on the sidelines of the Fourth Meeting of Board of Trustees (BoT) of the ECO Educational Institute (ECOEI), in Istanbul.
Expressing gratitude to the honourable Minister for the invitation and the warm hospitability during the Fourth BoT Meeting of the ECOEI, the Secretary General congratulated Mr. Tekin on his new assignment as the Minister of National Education. While acknowledging the strong support of the Government and the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Türkiye to the ECOEI and its activities, he appreciated the Government’s signing of the Host Country Agreement with the ECOEI, which would make the Institute legally a diplomatic mission.
The Secretary General also briefed the Minister about some important upcoming ECO events such as the 27th Meeting of the ECO Council of Ministers in Shusha, Azerbaijan in October 2023 and the 16th ECO Summit in Uzbekistan in November 2023, and reiterated the importance of Türkiye as well as Türkiye’s continued support to the ECO for wellbeing and betterment of the Member States.
While reciprocating the gratitude expressed by Ambassador Noziri, the Minister conveyed that Türkiye had always committed itself to the ECO and it would remain so in future.
