On March 12, 2023, the ECO Secretary General Ambassador Khusrav Noziri met with the Acting Foreign Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr. Bakhtiyor Saidov as well as the Country’s Transport Minister, Mr. Ilkhom Makhkamov.
On March 12, 2023, the ECO Secretary General Ambassador Khusrav Noziri met with the Acting Foreign Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr. Bakhtiyor Saidov as well as the Country’s Transport Minister, Mr. Ilkhom Makhkamov.
Held in Tehran, the interaction reviewed the ECO-Uzbekistan cooperative framework, focusing on the decisions and recommendations of 26th Meeting of the ECO Council of Ministers (COM) hosted by Uzbekistan this year in January. The meeting also discussed an under-process action plan aimed at implementing the declarations made by COM in the Tashkent Communiqué. Moreover, the preparations being made for some important ECO events to be organized in 2023, including the 27th Meeting of the COM and 16th ECO Summit in Baku and Tashkent respectively, were also taken into account.
In addition, the two sides mulled over the ECO sectoral priorities, specifically the intra-regional trade and connectivity.
Both sides appeared eager and receptive to mutually ensure smooth implementation of ECO agenda of regional cooperation, having an intensified collaboration amongst all Member States.
