Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization Dr. Asad M. Khan, held a meeting with H.E. Sidi Mohamed Radhi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
During the cordial discussions, both dignitaries explored avenues for enhanced cooperation between ECO and the African Union, with a particular emphasis on building ties in trade, transport, and energy sectors. Dr. Khan extended an invitation to the African Union ambassadors based in Tehran to attend a special briefing at the ECO Secretariat to elaborate on ECO’s activities, projects, and the strategic benefits of closer cooperation between ECO member states and African countries.
The meeting underscored the ECO’s commitment to broadening its regional engagement and deepening partnership with the African Union.
