The ECO Secretary General Ambassador Khusrav Noziri met with the President of Iran Meteorological Organization (IRIMO) Ms. Sahar Taj Bakhsh on the sidelines of 4th Expert Group Meeting on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), organized at the ECO Secretariat on November 26, 2023.
During the meeting, the two sides emphasized the need for enhancing ECO-IRIMO collaboration on DRR, particularly the importance of their mutual engagements on data governance and policies. They also underscored the significant aspects of risk reduction and disaster information management, and discussed opportunities of collaboration on sand and dust storm management in the region.
