Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), Dr. Asad M. Khan, and H.E. Mr. Yerbol Myrzabosynov, Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, held productive bilateral discussions in Astana.
The meeting underscored the shared commitment to regional integration, with both dignitaries expressing confidence in doubling the ECO region’s international visitor figures through joint efforts.
The parties focused on the upcoming 7th ECO Ministerial Meeting on Tourism in Shusha, Republic of Azerbaijan, during which the city of Aktau, Kazakhstan, will be officially proclaimed as the ECO Tourism Capital for 2030.
Exploring new horizons for regional integration, they also discussed initiating regional cooperation in the fields of sports and youth events, with Kazakhstan taking the lead in this new direction.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to closely coordinate the integration of concrete sports and youth exchange initiatives into major ECO events.
