On September 7, the ECO Secretary General Ambassador Khusrav Noziri met with the Agriculture Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, H.E Mr. Aziz Voitov.
The interaction, made on the sidelines of an International Conference on Food Security in Samarkand, featured discussion on the branched out vistas of regional economic cooperation, especially the role of ECO and its progressive agenda for promoting collaboration amongst the Member States on agricultural development and food security through an expeditious implementation of ECO Regional Program on food Security. The meeting also underscored the significance of several important events hosted by Uzbekistan under country’s Chairmanship of ECO in 2022, including the 26th Meeting of the Council of Ministers (COM) and the 7th Ministerial Meeting on Agriculture. The two dignitaries also took into account the significance of issues to be considered by highest ECO leadership during the 16th Summit scheduled for November 9, 2023 in Tashkent.
Both sides agreed on the need for strengthening multifaceted cooperation amongst the ECO countries for an accelerated and shared development in the region.
