The ECO Secretary General Ambassador Khusrav Noziri joined the distinguished assembly at the 24th Meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), in the SCO Plus format, held under the chairmanship of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

This high-caliber summit convened Heads of State and Government from SCO member countries, alongside leaders from various regional and international organisations, including the United Nations Secretary General. The summit marked a significant milestone with the induction of Belarus as the newest member of the SCO.

The summit focused on pressing global issues, emphasizing climate change, environmental sustainability, terrorism, and economic inequality. Delegates stressed the urgent need for collaborative efforts to combat climate change through sustainable practices and green technologies. They recognized environmental stewardship as essential for global prosperity and stability. The summit also addressed terrorism, advocating for stronger international cooperation to eradicate it. Economic discussions highlighted the need for equitable growth and poverty eradication, promoting inclusive development and fair globalization benefits. Additionally, leaders called for a cohesive international framework to tackle emerging challenges, including the use of national currencies to enhance economic resilience.

The summit concluded with a unanimous resolve to address these multifaceted challenges through concerted efforts and reinforced collaboration, thereby fostering a more stable, equitable, and sustainable global order.
