The ECO Secretary General, H.E. Dr. Hadi Soleimanpour participated, as an observer, in the 36th Ministerial Session of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC).
Inaugurating the Session that took place virtually on November 25 and 26, 2020, H.E. Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoؤںan, honourable President of the Republic of Turkey delivered his opening speech. H.E. Mr. Fuat Oktay, Vice President of Turkey, however, chaired the event.
Among other prominent participants, who attended the Ministerial Session, were the OIC Secretary General, H.E. Mr. Yousef bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen, and the representatives of the regional groups including Ministers of Economies of the State of Kuwait, the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
Topic of discussion of the 36th COMCEC was focused on tourism and the impact of COVID-19 thereof.
