The Acting Ambassador of Afghanistan in Tehran, Mawlawi Fazel Mohammad Haqani, called on the ECO Secretary General Dr. Asad M. Khan.
The acting Ambassador of Afghanistan briefed the Secretary General on the latest social and economic developments in his country and expressed hope for the full-fledged resumption of Afghanistan’s engagements with the Economic Cooperation Organisation. Secretary General Dr. Khan while acknowledging the importance of Afghanistan as a valuable member of ECO, thanked the Acting Ambassador for Afghanistan’s participation in some of the ECO meetings during this year. The Secretary General assured the Acting Ambassador of conveying Afghanistan’s interest in full resumption of engagements with ECO to the relevant decision making bodies of the ECO for consideration.
