Economic Cooperation Organization

The Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization, H.E. Mr. Khusrav Noziri visited the Republic of Turkey on March 10, 2022 to participate in the Antalya Diplomacy Forum. Within the event’s framework, he met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey and Director for EU Affairs, H.E. Mr. Faruk Kaymakci.

The Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization, H.E. Mr. Khusrav Noziri visited the Republic of Turkey on March 10, 2022 to participate in the Antalya Diplomacy Forum. Within the event's framework, he met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey and Director for EU Affairs, H.E. Mr. Faruk Kaymakci.

The two sides' interaction featured discussions on certain issues of mutual interest as well as ways and means of expanded cooperation for greater regional integration.

The Secretary General briefed the Deputy Foreign Minister about the ECO's prominent activities and engagements, the approach adopted for evolving the organization to be more project and result oriented, the measures for implementation of the decisions taken during the 15th ECO Summit and 25th Meeting of the Council of Ministers (COM) held in November last year at Ashgabat. The Secretary General also valued and commended the efforts and role of the Republic of Turkey to secure the ECO's development targets for the shared welfare and wellbeing of the region.

The Deputy Foreign Minister while acknowledging the activities of the ECO and its contribution towards regional development assured Turkey's continued support to the Organization to realize and execute the ECO's agenda of increased socioeconomic progress in the region. He hoped that the ECO Projects, including in the areas of transport, energy, tourism and cultural activities, would help enhance regional trade.
