Mashhad – December 2, 2024
Senior officials of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) convened in Mashhad for a preparatory session ahead of the 28th Meeting of the ECO Council of Ministers (COM), scheduled to take place on December 3, 2024.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Seyed Jalaledin Alavi Sabzevari, Director General of Multilateral and International Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and attended by delegates from ECO Member States and Observers. Coordinated by ECO Secretary General Dr. Asad M. Khan, the meeting finalized key documents set to be adopted during the COM. Discussions highlighted regional challenges and opportunities, emphasizing the importance of enhanced collaboration among ECO Member States to unlock the region’s development potential.
A significant outcome of the preparatory session was the finalization of the Mashhad Communiqué, which outlines strategic initiatives and actionable steps to strengthen multifaceted regional cooperation. The Communiqué reflects ECO’s commitment to fostering a resilient and integrated region while addressing shared challenges collectively.
