On the sidelines of the visit of the ECO Council of Permanent Representatives to Yazd, the ECO Secretary General Ambassador Khusrav Noziri met with the President and members of the Board of Directors of the Yazd Chamber of Commerce on March 7, 2024.

Welcoming the Secretary General, President Mojtaba Dastmalchian highlighted the province’s economic strengths and their desire to foster collaboration with the ECO member countries. The President emphasized Yazd’s robust industrial sector, particularly its leading position in ceramic tile, textile and steel production. Noting also that Yazd holds the distinction of being the onlu Iranian city inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, the President informed about Yazd’s rich historical, natural and cultural endowments.

Expressing his gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitability extended to the ECO delegation in Yazd, the Secretary General highlighted his hope for continued cooperation, particularly within the framework of the ECO Trade Agreement (ECOTA). Acknowledging the impressive economic potential of Yazd across various sectors, Ambassador Noziri also expressed his belief that fostering collaboration through ECOTA can significantly benefit all parties involved.
