During his interview ECO Secretary General touched upon water as common value and concern of current and future issue in global agenda, including ECO region.
He underlined that protection of environment, sustainable use of natural recourses and tackling the challenges of climate change are in the priority area of ECO’s environment profile. He also added that ECO is building partnerships to roll out an integrated response to these challenges, and to achieve progress at regional level.
Furthermore Mr. Noziri highlighted that work on the achievement of sustainable development goals brings the ECO nations together as their common objective to promote sustainable conditions to make shared progress for their joint prosperity and development through strengthening regional and international cooperation. The ECO is very keen to work closely with peering regional and international organizations and other stakeholders on water related areas.
He underscored that Dushanbe Water Conference can reflect our commitment to achieve water security in a wider scope including ECO region, particularly to renew our inspiration, passion and ideas to meet the water challenges of the 21st century.
At the end of his interview ECO Secretary General stated that one of Organization’s priorities ahead is building resilience through better management of water resources. He concluded with affirmation to continue supporting Member States in addressing their water security challenges.
