A two-day High Level Consultative Meeting on “Risk Data Governance and Disaster Information Management and their Role in Enhancing Monitoring, impact-based Forecasting and Early Warning” was jointly organized by United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), Asian and Pacific Center for the Development of Disaster Information Management (APDIM) and Tأ¼rkiye Disaster and Management Authority (AFAD). The event, held on December 6-7, 2022 in Istanbul, was to elaborate and make necessary recommendations on Risk Data Governance and Disaster Information Management

During the meeting, Ms. Neda Moshref Javadi, Program Officer for Human Resources and Sustainable Development (HRSD) represented the ECO Secretariat, making a presentation on ECO, its role and contribution to support the disaster risk management and efforts in the region.

The event, inaugurated by Director of Asian Pacific Center for Development on Disaster Information Management (APDIM) Ms. Letizai Rossano, was attended by the experts from the different countries including Bangladesh, Maldives, Türkiye, Cambodia, Islamic Republic of Iran, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, India, Mongolia as well as the experts from the international organizations such as APDIM, AFAD, ESCAP, ESCWA, FAO and OECD.
