Dr. Husnu Tekin, ECO Director for Human Resources and Sustainable Development (HRSD), met with H.E. Mr. Rustam Nazarzoda, Chairman of the Tajikistan Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense, during the 3rd High-Level International Conference on “Water for Sustainable Development 2018-2028” held in Dushanbe.
Dr. Tekin expressed gratitude for Tajikistan’s positive feedback on the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) activities, particularly in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR). He also provided updates on the upcoming 9th Ministerial Meeting on DRR, scheduled in the HRSD’s 2024 calendar.
Mr. Nazarzoda affirmed Tajikistan’s readiness to host the 9th Ministerial Meeting in Dushanbe on September 16, 2024, along with a High-Level Official Meeting on September 15, 2024. He requested the ECO to initiate the necessary procedures for organizing this significant event.
