The Informal Meeting of ECO Council of Ministers was held on 27th September 2019 on the sidelines of the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The Informal Meeting of ECO Council of Ministers was held on 27th September 2019 on the sidelines of the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The meeting was Co-chaired by H.E. Mr. Sirojiddin Muhriddin, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and H.E. Mr. Mevlut Cavusoglu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey.
The Meeting was attended by Foreign Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Islamic Republic of Iran, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Republic of Tajikistan, Republic of Turkey, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan, and Permanent Representatives of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Republic of Uzbekistan to the United Nations. Turkish Cypriot State attended the Meeting as an “Observer”.
The Ministers/Heads of Delegation exchanged views on issues related the regional and global developments, cooperation in the framework of ECO, as well as ongoing reform process in the Organization.
H.E. Mr. Mevlut Cavusoglu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey announced that Turkey will assume ECO Chairmanship in 24th Meeting of ECO Council of Ministers, to be held on 8-9 November 2019 in Antalya.
