Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Program Online Training Course titled ‘International Trade Statistics and Balance of Payments’ began its first session on June 20, 2023 and will last until 22 June.
The event is organized jointly by the ECO Secretariat, the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) and the Department of Statistics of Malaysia (DOSM) with the support of the World Tarde Organization (WTO), United Nations Statistical Division (UNSD) and United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
In his opening remarks ECO Deputy Secretary General Ambassador Jandos Asanov highlighted that ECO highly values cooperation and interaction with SESRIC and DOSM. Noting that the last meeting of the Regional Planning Council of ECO appreciated holding two courses in 2022; Online Training Course on Big Data Applications for Price Intelligence and Training Course on SDG-9 (Industry, Infrastructure, and Innovation), Ambassador Asanov expressed confidence that the current training course would substantially contribute to the improvement of statistical services in ECO countries.
