The newly appointed Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to ECO, H.E. Dr. Seyed Jalaledin Alavi Sabzevari presented his letter of credence to the ECO Secretary General, H.E. Dr. Hadi Soleimanpour on December 21, 2020.

The newly appointed Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to ECO, H.E. Dr. Seyed Jalaledin Alavi Sabzevari presented his letter of credence to the ECO Secretary General, H.E. Dr. Hadi Soleimanpour on December 21, 2020.

The ECO Secretary General received Dr. Alavi in a receptive and cordial manner, felicitating him for assuming the new responsibilities. Noting his extensive experience of working with ECO and familiarity with organization’s affairs, Dr. Soleimanpour considered that the appointment of Iran’s new Permanent Representative would be important to help enrich and achieve the agenda of the ECO. He expressed his deep gratitude to the Islamic Republic of Iran being host of the ECO Secretariat, and to facilitate its smooth functioning, including the country’s continued support to the organization’s activities for development in the region and implementation of ECO Vision 2025.

The ECO Secretary General further appreciated Iran’s qualified staff in various categories that the country nominates for working at the ECO Secretariat to meet the organization’s goals. He also informed the visiting dignitary about the active involvement of non-founding members in the organization’s activities, supporting different ECO projects in the pursuit of organization’s intended targets.

While thanking the Secretary General, Dr. Alavi offered continued and complete support of Iran to the ECO Secretariat, expressing country’s readiness to cooperate for realization of the organization’s perceived aims and objectives as envisaged in the Izmir Treaty and ECO Vision. He also acknowledged and appreciated the ECO’s activities, particularly during the last three years.
