A delegation of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Secretariat, led by Deputy Secretary General Ambassador Jandos Asanov, participated in the official unveiling ceremony of the poster and website for the “Symposium on the Tourism Market of the ECO Member States”.
The ceremony brought together members of diplomatic corps from the Embassies of the ECO Member States in Tehran, senior representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as key stakeholders from Iran’s tourism sector, including the Kish Free Zone Organization.
During the event, speakers emphasized the growing importance of tourism as a pillar of regional economic cooperation and commended the initiative for creating a vital platform to boost collaboration among regional tourism stakeholders for the development of sustainable tourism. The organizing committee also presented a brief overview of the achievements of the first edition of the symposium and highlighted the goals and preparatory work for the second edition.
The poster of the symposium was officially unveiled, announcing the 2nd Symposium on the Tourism Market of the ECO Member States, which will be held on 21–24 April 2026 in Kish Island, Iran. The event is expected to host a wide range of participants including tourism officials, private sector representatives, investors, and education providers. The upcoming symposium will feature thematic sessions on tourism education, B2B networking, field visits, and strategic discussions on health tourism, nature-based tourism, and new investment opportunities.
