Results Based Management (RBM) training session was conducted at ECO Secretariat on July 8, 2021. The session has followed cooperative links of the Secretariat of ECO with ECO-s Regional Coordination Center (RCC) at Ankara.
H.E. Ambassador Hüseyin Avni Biçakli, Deputy Secretary of the Economic Cooperation Organization welcomed the participants of the training session with opening remarks emphasizing the importance of RBM for results-based implementation of ECO-s projects to meet projects- stakeholder expectations. The Member States- aspirations to see the development and implementation of ECO projects that bring change & transformations- effect to the sustainable post-covid19 era have been re-iterated, in this regard.
Master-class training session was facilitated by Professor Borja Santos Porras, from International University in Madrid (Spain) who shared his international experience in conducting mega projects in Europe, Asia and Africa and in developing country strategies and public policies in selected world countries.
The main purpose of the training was to provide state-of-the-art expertise on the RBM in line with the targets and expected outcomes as envisaged in ECO Vision 2025. New approaches that have recently emerged in international project management such as Problem-Driven Iterative Adaption (PDIA) methodology have been discussed in detail. ECO Secretariat-s project coordinating staff participated in the event to add greater value to the project coordination and leadership capacities at Secretariat in support of the currently ongoing implementation of ECO Work Programme 2021. Thus, project quantification and qualitative analyses- tools ensuring the attainment of expected impact from projects have been detailed as well as the tangible change that application of new techniques may bring in for the greater success of ECO regional projects.
