The ECO Secretary General Ambassador Khusrav Noziri attended the Fourth Meeting of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the ECO Educational Institute (ECOEI) held in Istanbul in hybrid format on August 5, 2023.
The event, chaired by Minister of National Education of the Republic of Türkiye H.E. Mr. Mr. Yusuf Tekin, was attended by ECO Member States, Obervers and Specialized Agencies
Chairing the meeting, the Honourable Minister emphasized the importance of educational cooperation for the wellbeing of people. Citing the overall achievements of the ECO, he stressed that more proactive measures were required by the Organization and its Specialized Agencies, especially the ECO Educational Institute to ensure strong educational and technical collaboration amongst the member countries
Touching upon recent trends and transformations and role of education in socio-economic development, Ambassador Noziri highlighted the increasing need for promoting education, scientific research and innovation in the region. He alluded to the vast demographic and economic potential of the Member States, calling for their unyielding support to the Educational Institute in the greater regional interest.
The meeting, inter alia, reviewed and discussed various other issues under its agenda, including the progress and activities of the Institute, implementation status of the Third BoT Meeting as well the ratification of ECOEI Charter, administrative and budgetary matters, etc…
