During his bilateral visit to Islamabad, the ECO Secretary General Ambassador Khusrav Noziri called on the Honourable Prime Minister of Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.

Prime Minister Sharif commended the Secretary General for his outstanding contributions to the Organization, praising his leadership in advancing ECO’s goals and highlighting the positive impact of his efforts on regional cooperation. He also extended his best wishes for the Secretary General’s future endeavors.

The Secretary General expressed his gratitude for Pakistan’s exceptional hospitality and reflected on the milestones achieved during his tenure. He highlighted Lahore’s candidacy as the ECO Tourism Capital for 2027, a move anticipated to boost cultural exchanges and tourism within the region. Furthermore, he mentioned the appointment of Ambassador Dr. Asad Majeed Khan as the new Secretary General of ECO, noting that his extensive experience in trade and economic diplomacy is expected to bring fresh dynamism to the organization.

Concluding the meeting, the Secretary General encouraged Pakistan to support the ECO at various international forums, reinforcing the commitment to mutual development and prosperity among member states. The meeting underscored the ongoing dedication of both ECO and Pakistan to deepen economic ties and collaborative efforts for a prosperous regional future.
