An online meeting was held on 03rd April 2025, 9:30 am (Tehran time) to review the progress in the preparations for organizing the ‘ECO Business Summit’ which isto be hosted by Azerbaijan on 3rd July 2025, on the sidelines of the 17th ECO Summit. The meeting was chaired by the Secretary General, ECO, Ambassador Asad Majeed Khan. The representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economy, and Azerbaijan Exports and Investment Promotion Federation (AZPROMO) participated in the meeting. The representatives from National Chamber of Azerbaijan, the President of the ECO Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the representative from ECO Secretariat also participated in the meeting.
The meeting discussed the draft ‘Concept Paper’ and the draft Programme prepared by the host authorities. Important updates and suggestion were made to update the programme and the Concept Paper. The host will share the updated progarmme and the ‘Concept Paper’ in within 2-3 days with the participants and seek their feedback.
The ECO Business Summit is expected to bring ten to fifteen top companies from each ECO country for B2B and B2G meetings.
The business summit is expected to create substantial trade through signing of the contracts among the companies and the businesses.
