During his visit to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), H.E. Dr. Asad M. Khan held a meeting with Ambassador Ms. Amna Baloch, Foreign Secretary of Pakistan. Ambassador Baloch reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the goals and objectives of ECO and to promote regional connectivity under the ECO framework.
Dr. Khan briefed the Foreign Secretary on the upcoming ECO events, including the 17th ECO Summit, scheduled for July 3-4, 2025, in Azerbaijan and a number of sectoral Ministerial meetings before the Summit. He emphasized the importance of Pakistan’s active participation in these events and initiatives.
The meeting also discussed issues such as constraints on financing flows in the region, the operationalization of the ECO Reinsurance Company, and enhancing the financing capacity of the ECO Trade and Development Bank. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening regional cooperation and advancing ECO’s goals through collaborative efforts.
