On the sidelines of the High-Level International Conference on Glaciers’ Preservation, the Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), H.E. Dr. Asad M. Khan, held a meeting with H.E. Abdukhakimov Aziz Abdukaxarovich, Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Dr. Khan acknowledged Uzbekistan’s consistent contributions to ECO and encouraged a more proactive role in ECO’s climate diplomacy initiatives. The meeting covered the convening of the long-awaited ECO Environment Ministers Meeting, operationalization of the ECO Clean Energy Center in Baku, and the ECO RESCUE initiative. The meeting concluded with a mutual resolve to strengthening regional cooperation and addressing climate challenges collectively and effectively.
