Dr. Asad M. Khan, Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization, met H.E. Mr. Sirojiddin Muhriddin, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, on the sidelines of the 28th Meeting of the Council of Ministers (COM).
Dr. Khan briefed the Minister on key regional issues and shared his priorities for addressing them through collective efforts. He also highlighted some structural challenges impacting the efficiency of the Organization and invited to Tajikistan to host several ECO events in the future.
H.E. Mr. Muhriddin congratulated Dr. Khan on his appointment as the ECO Secretary General and expressed confidence in his leadership and extensive experience. He also underlined Tajikistan’s developmental priorities and conveyed the country’s willingness to host ECO Ministerial Meetings on Industry and Environment. The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to strengthening regional cooperation and advancing the shared goals of the ECO.
