Secretary General Dr. Asad M. Khan held a bilateral meeting with the honorable Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, H.E. Oljas Bektenov, who is on an official visit to Tehran for the Caspian Sea Littoral States Summit.
The bilateral interaction reviewed Kazakhstan’s priorities during its chairmanship of the Organization during 2025, while also reaffirming the country’s strong support for ECO initiatives and enhancing regional cooperation within ECO framework.
Secretary General Khan briefed the Minister on upcoming important ECO Ministerial Meetings in Trade, Finance, Tourism and Transport, as well as the 17th ECO Summit to be held in Azerbaijan, on 3-4 July, 2025. He also conveyed the ECO Secretariat’s readiness to closely work with the chairmanship throughout 2025 to realize the priorities proposed by the Kazakh leadership for ECO regional cooperation framework.
