The ECO Secretary General Ambassador Khusrav Noziri held a bilateral meeting with his Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) counterpart H.E. Dr. Pornchai Danvivathana at the ECO Secretariat on August 25, 2023.
While recalling their previous bilateral interactions, Ambassador Noziri touched upon commonalities between the two organizations and highlighted potential areas of cooperation which could yield dividends for both Organizations. Ambassador Noziri also briefed the visiting dignitary on the upcoming high-level ECO events, including 27th Council of Ministers Meeting in Azerbaijan and the 16th ECO Summit in Uzbekistan. He also detailed his ACD counterpart on external relations of ECO with special attention on ECO observership in the United Nations General Assembly.
The meeting concluded with agreement on exploring opportunities to establish cooperation between the two organizations and institutionalizing ties by inking Memorandum of Understanding.
